Honored to Receive the Future Leaders in Sustainability Award at DGDW 2025
Two weeks ago, I had the incredible honor of receiving the Future Leaders in Sustainability Award 2025 at the Doing Good, Doing Well (DGDW) conference in Barcelona. It’s one thing to be part of a global conversation on sustainability, it’s another to be recognized among peers and industry leaders who are deeply committed to driving meaningful change.
This Year’s Theme: Urgency in Action
The conference’s theme, "The Last Sprint: Roadmap to 2030," couldn’t have been more timely. With the clock ticking on global targets, the conversations were honest, solution-oriented, and pragmatic, exactly the kind of discourse we need right now. From navigating the complexities of ESG reporting to innovative frameworks for impact measurement, every session pushed us to think beyond theoretical discussions and into actionable strategies.
Learning from Visionaries
I had the privilege of engaging with some of the most inspiring changemakers:
- Lance Uggla, co-founder of BeyondNetZero, General Atlantic’s first climate growth equity fund, shared powerful insights on scaling climate solutions through investment and collaboration.
- Laurien Meuter, founder of Tiny Miracles (B Corp), reminded us of the human stories behind sustainability, her organization’s work in alleviating poverty in Mumbai was not only humbling but also a lesson in sustainable, community-driven impact.
- Amir Lebdioui’s perspectives on leadership, sustainable finance, and social impact opened up conversations around the responsibilities of emerging leaders in shaping inclusive economies.
A Community of Change Agents
Beyond the keynotes and panels, what truly stood out for me was the vibrant community of professionals and future business leaders who gathered from across the globe, each bringing unique experiences, ideas, and ambitions for a more sustainable and resilient economy. The side conversations, debates over coffee, and informal brainstorming sessions were just as valuable as the formal agenda.
Gratitude and Reflection
I’m incredibly grateful to IESE Business School and the IESE Responsible Business Club for organizing such a thoughtfully curated event. Their commitment to fostering conversations at the intersection of business and sustainability is evident in the quality and depth of this year’s conference.
What This Award Means to Me
Receiving the Future Leaders in Sustainability Award isn’t just a personal milestone, it’s a responsibility. It’s a reminder that we, as young leaders, have a duty to turn ideas into action and to challenge ourselves (and others) to be bold, collaborative, and solutions-driven.
As I reflect on this experience, I’m even more motivated to continue contributing to this space, finding new ways to integrate sustainability into business strategy, amplifying underrepresented voices, and helping shape a future where profit and purpose are not mutually exclusive.
The road to 2030 is short, but filled with opportunities for those willing to lead with intention and integrity.
Here’s to continued learning, collaboration, and impactful action.
